Who the F*** is Tilly?

Johann T’Serclaes von Tilly

How the hell did we come up with this name? It so happened that Johann Tserclaes, Count of Tilly was a field marshal who commanded the Catholic League's forces in the Thirty Years' War.

While attempting to prevent the Swedes from crossing into Bavaria over the Lech near Rain am Lech, he was wounded and died fifteen days later in Ingolstadt at the age of 73 on 30th April 1632.

His tomb is in Altötting, Upper Bavaria.
